Classification of Computers:
There are two way of classifying Computers.
1.classification on the basis of their principle of construction,e,g.
digital, analog and hybrid Computers.
2.classification on the basis of their configuration,size and performance.e.g mini Computer,micro Computerand mainframe Computer.
Analog Computers:
Analog means a quantity which may change contonuously. an analog Computer is one that measures physiscal values for example, an analog clock measures time by means of the distance travelled by the hands of a clock around a dial. A thermometer is a analog device because it measures the length of a mercury column, which varies continuously similarly in analog Computer we measure physical values that change along a constant scale For example, an analog processor is used at petrol station indicates the quantity of petrol delivered. These Computers can be used in refineles and for weather forecast.
